At the end of last term, on Monday the 23rd of June, our year 9 Animal, Food and Outdoor class planted seeds in the beautifully painted flower pots. From our study tour to Echuca and Ararat, we collected a variety of seeds including wheat, corn, barley, canola and Faba beans to plant.
The way that we were told to plant the seeds was to put a piece of paper on the bottom of the pot to cover the hole, then a little bit of gravel to hold it down. Next we filled most of the pot with soil and then we planted the seeds. We learnt that the correct way to plant seeds is to dig a hole about three times the thickness of the seed. Then we watered them and put them out in the sun to grow.
